Evaluating how much I want to write going forward

I started writing on this platform at the beginning of 2022 without much expectation. Just thought I’d give a new hobby a try and see where it might take me and who I could meet.

The New Year offers a chance for reflection. To evaluate what I enjoyed about 2022 and what changes I might want to make in 2023.

Writing, and the role I want it to have in my life has been one of the things about 2022 that are being put under a microscope during this evaluation. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but more because I question if I have the time for it, or if that time might be better spent with other pursuits.

There is a lot that has happened in 2022 that has taken up my time. I got married, was promoted at work, and continue to spend time with family and friends. As the pressure to start a family and/or continue advancing at work picks up it has me questioning how writing will find its way into my schedule.

As it is, finding the time to write has been difficult. In an ideal world, I’d have the energy to get up at 5:00 in the morning and write. When the day is still quiet and I’m able to just focus on a single task.

However, in practice, my day doesn’t start much earlier than 6:30 and the hour-long…
