Evening at Sylvan Table shows the Value of Friendship
Reflections on an evening at one of Detroit’s best new restaurants
Recently I went to Sylvan Table, a restaurant north of Detroit, for dinner with some old friends. It’s a spot that opened within the past couple of years close to their house and had been on the bucket list for a while.
Safe to say it lived up to the hype.
Upon arrival, you’re transported from the monotony of the Metro Detroit suburbs to a farm oasis that could easily be a couple of hours outside of the city.
The venue from the outside looked like a rustic cabin that was further enforced once we entered the restaurant. Inside there was a fireplace, with a deer head hanging right above it.
It has the feel of going to a family’s home for dinner, rather than one of the hottest new restaurants in suburban Detroit.
