How to Combat the “Sunday Scaries”
Finding out what works for you
Sundays have a weird feel to them. Yes, it is still the weekend but the work week ahead seems to hover over you throughout the day.
Myself, I tend to spend an unhealthy amount of the day thinking about what awaits me when I start my workday on Monday.
What emails will be in my inbox?
Did I do enough to prepare for that meeting?
How am I going to tackle some of the challenges during the week?
These thoughts can be paralyzing when trying to enjoy what is left of your weekend. Constant worrying can have you back into the work week without feeling rejuvenated from the weekend.
As I’ve learned to deal with the anxiety of a Sunday evening, there have been a few tips that I have found to be helpful.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to handling this emotion but the more experience you have in dealing with this anxiety, the better you’ll be able to know what your body needs to be able to face the upcoming work week.
