What are your values?

How should you set them?

This has been a question I’ve been asking myself a lot recently.

As I’ve transitioned from a personality based on thought to one that is based on values I’ve been wondering what that actually means. Of course, the wondering comes with a lot of overthinking.

How many values can you have?

What if my values change?

Does this value really fit who I am?

These were questions that were constantly running through my head as I contemplated what values I should “pick” like I was going to the grocery store.

What I’ve found though is that there is no recipe for who one is supposed to become.

Rather values are less a thought and more a feeling. Not something you can choose to live out through the rest of your life, but something that evolves as you grow and change into who you are in the present moment.

So in reality, how can you just pick a handful of values to guide you through the rest of your life?

What I valued as a teenager is different from what I valued in my twenties and now into my mid-thirties, those values have continued to change with me.
